Fall! There is so much to love and celebrate when it comes to this season of transition.
Hello! I haven’t posted in some time. The project that I am currently working on san be accurately described as a traditional yet contemporary sampler. I describe it this way and I immediately picture a beige wall an updated and outdated hotel room or a big bowl of plain spaghetti. So, maybe I should not describe my work in that way. That’s not nice! 😉
Inspired by the beautiful ripening decay of the burgundy, orange, yellows, and browns of the season and in need of a “palate cleanser”. I decided to get to work on a sampler which has occupied space in my collection for some time now. I enjoy working on samplers because of the simplicity, beauty, and variety that I find in this type of project. I have a deep love and regard for antique samplers which have been created by women, both young and old for hundreds of years. These samplers are prized as works of art and for good reason.
Have you created a sampler? If so, please share it with me on my Facebook page @facebook.com/louisebernadette, I would love to share it. Enjoy the lovely season and the not so slow transition towards another season.
